Original sage green boards with a beige cloth quarter binding with the title clear but in sl. dulled gilt on the spine. xii + 124pp + (2pp) advert leaf at the end. Deckle edged pages, sl. 'dusty'. Illustrated with 28 plates in colour, monochrome and with 23 line sketches. The full colour Frontispiece is " The Golden Towers of Khadmain". The covers have a few marks with some light shelfwear and a little light wear/rubbing/chafing to the corners. but overall the covers are are VG. All hinges secure and tight. Internally there is a gift dedication (Christmas 1927) to the front free endpaper. No other Inscriptions/marks - A Very Clean, Tight and Bright copy, with Maxwells lovely paintings and drawings. Maxwell visited the area for the Imperial War Museum as a war artist. A very different Basra /Baghdad nowadays!; 108191; 4to
