Wordsworth William The Poetical Works of William Wordsworth London E. Moxon, Son and Co. , Ward, Lock and Co. 1889 New Edition Hardcover Very Good with no dust jacket Half Green leather, (leather spine and corners) green cloth boards. The spine has five raised bands, gilt titling/lettering, and most attractive gilt decoration to each compartment. The 'green' colour has browned over time, as often is the case, and the edges/corners are a little rubbed, with one tiny hole in the front edge, o/w this is a handsome copy. Marbled endpapers and (faded) marbled fore-edges. All hinges sound. (xxiv) + 704 pages. Engraved portrait bust vignette frontispiece of Wordsworth, with a tissue guarded Engraved Title page opposite. This is followed by a Printed Title page. Stated 'Complete Copyright Edition' at the top of the page and 'New Edition' under the Title. Only 'Ward, Lock & Co' is at the foot of the engraved Title but the printed title has both Ward Lock and Moxon. Illustrated with some b/w full page illustrations after various artists. Light foxing to the first few and last few pps (particularly the printed title page) o/w very clean and tight throughout. Former owner's name written to the second blank ffep, o/w No other Inscriptions or Marks. The Contents consist of the COMPLETE Poetical Works, including the Sonnets, Epitaphs, Inscriptions and Selections of Chaucer Modernised. Notes.
