German Text Throughout. Attractively bound and generally a very well-kept copy. Contains both parts - Erster Band: Eine Abrechnung; Zweiter Band: Die nationalsozialistische Bewegung. A SPECIAL WEDDING EDITION including a presentation plate celebrating the marriage of a couple (I can't read the names properly, but they are listed - possibly ? 'Rilling Kruft Weber' to 'Prissila ... Fricks'? ) on 8 April 1939. This book "presented to the newlywed couple with the best from Munich for a happy and blessed marriage" at the Registry office in Gröben in Teuchern. Signed by the Registrar, and stamped with the Registry stamp which has the Nazi logo in the centre of the stamp. Dark cream based, gold flecked, textured boards simulating vellum, with a black leather spine. With gilt spine lettering and oak leaf and acorns design in gilt on spine. Four raised spine bands, the top edge gilt and the remaining page fore-edges lightly 'toned/foxed'. The raised leather bands to the spine and spine edges are lightly rubbed, and the top half of the front/back covers are lightly faded o/w the covers are very clean, and all hinges tight. Internally, plain cream endpapers, but NO other Inscriptions or markings than those noted. Tissue-guarded frontispiece portrait of Hitler with facsimile signature below, (xxvi) + (6) + 782 pages plus 10pp publisher's advertisements at rear. Internally very clean - looks near unread. "Hitler began 'Mein Kampf' while imprisoned for what he considered to be "political crimes" following his failed Putsch in Munich in November 1923. Although Hitler received many visitors initially, he soon devoted himself entirely to the book. As he continued, Hitler realized that it would have to be a two-volume work, with the first volume scheduled for release in early 1925. The governor of Landsberg noted at the time that "he (Hitler) hopes the book will run into many editions, thus enabling him to fulfill his financial obligations and to defray the expenses incurred at the time of his trial..." . Overall a VG copy. An Original German Edition given to the happy couple just before the beginning of WW2 in Sept 1939. A piece of history. See Images. ; Small 8vo 7½" - 8" tall
