Bound in the original full 'tree-calf' leather, the spine with 5 raised bands and a burgundy, gilt tilted label. The calf is scraped here and there, and edge-worn with a little loss to the leather on the front cover. The spine to the inner edges/hinges is partially cracked here and there, but all hinges are secure. The tips of the corners are bumped and scraped through to the board, but overall it looks quite a handsome copy on the shelf. See Images. NO Inscriptions. (viii) + 4 pp (publishers catalogue) + 26 pp (Explanation of the Plates) + 56 copper-engraved plates numbered 1-70, of which 13 are folding. Several plates having 2 numbers to each. All plates complete, though a few of the folding plates have tears along the fold-lines, but NO loss or damage. Plain endpapers - a little marked/stained here and there. There is a small 'insect run' from the very bottom front corner of the book to prelim page vii, only affecting the blank corners (two tiny dots in some instances) and similar to the bottom rear of the book, a small 'run' (2 cms at the longest) running in to the very bottom edge of Plate 67 only - again only affecting the bottom BLANK edge of the page. Overall quite a nice copy which internally is generally pretty clean with some light 'thumbing'/marks here and there. All plates are good deep impressions. FULL title reads - "Convenient and Ornamental Architecture, Consisting of Original Designs, for Plans, Elevations, and Sections: beginning with the Farm House, and regularly ascending to the most grand and magnificent Villa, calculated for both town and country, and to suit all persons in every situation of life.
