Hard Cover. Good Plus. Clean, sound, deep salmon pink boards with deep black titling to the spine. Spine ends a little 'crushed' from storage but no damage. The base colour to the spine is very lightly faded but all titling is very clear and deep. In the original publishers' pictorial dustjacket, 99% complete (one small hole to the front edge) and price -clipped to the top corner of the inner flap, so overall Good only - looks a bit edge discoloured/rubbed - however the d/j is now tinted where rubbed and is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks Near VG. A gift note in ink to the former owner is under the front flap, o/w INTERNALLY EXCELLENT with NO Marks, and looks unread. (xxxiii) + (5) + 277 pages. Frontispiece - photograph of Louisa May Alcott as a young woman. A few b/w illustrations as originally in Alcott's pseudonymous tales.
