SIGNED LIMITED EDITION 157/320 copies only. Rough cut edges (chipped). As Usual Printed on Very Friable paper which almost always browns slightly and chips, but overall a Good copy of a quite Scarce Title. Hessian cloth spine with a paper label, and paper covered boards, which are worn, a little soiled and rubbed, the paper title label also very worn/rubbed. The book is sound and tight with the exception of one index page which had come loose (now replaced in the book) and is very repaired (with clear archive tape) around the edges. Slightly grubby at some gutterings. Royal 8vo, Black and white frontis. (xxxvi) + 316 pp. Rough cut pages, illustated with plates, Subscribers list. Seventy articles previously from the author's weekly local archaeology column in the Welsh Gazette, form the basis of this book. The author, endeavouring to give some fresh facts concerning every ecclesiastical parish in the county, systematically toured through it on foot from north to south, from east to west. An advert (not present) for this book read "The liberal support given by a generous public to the author's former books, and the fact that a very large part of the available issue of 'Cardiganshire' is already bespoken, warrant his urging intending subscribers to lose no time in registering their names on annexed form. No 'remainders' will be available, and no copies signed after publication. Tanybryn, Aberystwyth, June, 1903." 4 page catalogue of the Authors previous works at the end. Above the picture of Mount church there is a charming ink inscription which reads " On Tues September 5th 1916 I paid a visit to The holy Cross church Mount.............in consequence of the damage done to the roof by the gale of January 1916. R Lloyd. Jones Vicar of ? ? Evan N C Emlyn." No other annotations or inscriptions that I can see. A Good/Good plus tight, sound copy. ; 002408; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; Signed by Author
