This copy with a Replacement Photocopied Map o/w Complete. Green cloth bound boards with gilt titling and gilt decoration/county arms to front board and gilt titling and decoration to spine. The Extremities are rubbed and the top rear corner lacks some of the cloth, o/w a tight clean copy. Outer hinges tight. Top edge Gilt. Plain brown endpapers, with a previous owner's name written on the ffep - difficult to see. The Arms of Carmarthen opposite to the title page with a tissue guard (with a little light foxing) between this and the title page. (viii) + 219 pp. Black and white illustrations. 4 maps - Lacks the Original double-fold County Map - but this has been replaced with a full colour facsimile photocopy taken from another copy of this book. All else is Original. Some very light foxing spots mainly to the prelims but otherwise a clean tight and bright copy. "In the present (1879) greatly enlarged edition, new Maps have been introduced of the county, the borough, and a minute Miniature Map of the Town, specially prepared for the Work, which it is hoped will be found to add considerably to its value" W.
