SIGNED by the Author. Sound tight blue boards with lightly dulled gilt titling to the spine. Head/tail of the spine and corners lightly bumped with age/storage but NO damage. In the original publisher's pictorial dustjacket. The d/j is Not price-clipped but has some loss to the head/tail of the spine and some chipping to the corners. The dustjacket also has some light tan foxing (pale spotting). The d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks much better. The page fore-edges are also lightly spotted. Internally overall VG, just some pale foxing to the front endpapers. SIGNED by the AUTHOR on the half-title page - "E. P. Hillary" which was his 'early' signature. Apart from the Author's signature, internally there is some offsetting to the endpapers and some light foxing to the half title, o/w No Inscriptions or major marks. 224pp. With a full page coloured frontispiece, numerous b/w photographs, line drawings and maps.
