Illustrated throughout with b/w photographs/illustrations, full page, multi-photos to a page and double page pictures, etc. Produced during the First World War. This issue is mainly concerned with 'The War in Europe, the Middle East and Russia'. Articles include : - 'The Continued Advance of the Army of Mesopotamia: General Maude's Operations on the Shatt-el-Adhaim. The British-Indian Theatre of Operations North of Bagdad...' ; 'The Entry of America into the World Struggle for Liberty and Justice'. ; 'Vessels which do the Work - Destroyers. '; 'Echoes from the Danube'. A Double page b/w illustration of 'The Task of the Navy in Home Waters - Watching the Channel' - Drawn by Montague Dawson. Plus a Full page 'Roll of Honour' - with small individual photographs - for Officers killed whilst serving; and 'The Great European War Week by Week'. Also a few minor articles on other topics including : - 'Women's Sphere in Wartime', 'In the Petrol World', etc. Quite a few b/w adverts in the magazine, many with war-related themes, many not. Rear cover has a lovely full page pictorial Advert - The "Tank" Commander. Cavander's "Army Club" Cigarettes. In blues/greys/oranges. The Front cover has Adverts, decorated border, etc, all in blues/oranges.. And advertises 'The Story of "Old Glory" and other American Flags as told in this issue...' . A few small marks, Internally VG. Overall VG/NF. A fascinating period magazine and very topical given the current release of the film 1917. I have 9 Original copies of this illustrated newspaper dated 1917 (but NOT a 'run') that I am currently listing - so do enquire if interested in more than just this or any others - or the lot - during these dates.
