In the Original Publisher's FINE lilac boards with blue, white, silver and black illustration/decoration/titling to the spine and front board. One of those superb bindings that the Folio Society do so well. In the original blue Slipcase which has a little rubbing/fading to the left front edge (c. 1 cm wide) ONLY, from storage, otherwise a MINT copy with NO Inscriptions or other marks. Top page edge lilac and silver on blue endpapers front and back. The book is unread, AS NEW, and is now protected with a new clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover inside the s/case. (xx) + 296 pp. Illustrated with a full colour frontispiece and 11 other full colour plates by Caitlin Hackett, 12 in all, PLUS 1 full page b/w plate, and other b/w vignette illustrations in the text, mainly at the end of a chapter. Plus b/w hand lettering by Ruth Rowland. The book follows the text of the 1910 First Edition with some minor emendations. An Introduction by Geraldine McCaughrean, and The Editors Preface. Thread-sewn pages for durability and strength, and printed on long-lasting high quality, Caxton Wove, acid-neutral paper. Measures about 10.25 " x 8". One of the rarer titles in this wonderful Folio Society 'Rainbow Fairy Books' series, filled with Enchanting Fairy Tales - many obscure, and this book ending with one from 'The Mabinogion'.
