No date, but this is an early 20th Century Chinese book with 12 hand-painted illustrations depicting the tale of the the cultivation of Silk, starting with Silkworm Eggs. The book has a 'fold-out accordion binding' which when folded out to the full extent, cover to cover, measures c. 3. 5 Metres (c. 11' 5" or c. 350cms) with a wood cover front and back. A Chinese "Foo" character is carved into front board and attractively infilled with a green chalky substance. See Images.
